How To Fix Xbox Red Ring of Death (RROD)
Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death Error Codes Explained—Hard Drive Errors (E67, E68, E69 and E70)
If you’ve come across a “Red Ring of Death” on your Xbox 360, you may be confused. Depending on the number of lights blinking on the light circle on the front of the Xbox 360 game console, you can determine the issue at hand.
If you have some red lights blinking on your Xbox 360 and you’re getting an error code on your screen, you may be able to determine the issue at hand. If you have an error E67, E68, E69 or E70, you’re dealing with some sort of a hard drive error.
An E67 error on your Xbox 360 can mean the hard drive itself is corrupt or it is not connected correctly internally. Make sure all cables are connected securely to the hard drive inside, or even try removing your hard drive entirely and see if your Xbox 360 will start up normally.
An E68 error is similar to an E67 error, but it may also be caused by any additional accessories you may have attached to your system. This could include any external fan units or USB devices that did not specifically come with your Xbox 360. Try disconnecting these and restart your Xbox 360.
An E69 error on your Xbox 360 game console is similar to the E67 error code.
If you receive an E70 code, it means that the hard drive cannot be found. This could be because the hard drive failed entirely, or it is not connected to the Xbox 360 unit. Make sure all cables are attached to the hard drive internally.
